Another Podium finish for Fast Toys Team at Classic 24h of Daytona 2017. This year we brought our 2012 Ferrari 458 Challenge Evo (considered Vintage now!). The car was driven by Fast Toys owner Chris Carel, Gianfranco Casadei and Frank Mechaly. If it was impossible to dream to win overall between all these LMP1, LMP2, Daytona Prototypes and FLM cars, something could be tempted in the GT class. A question mark was also raised on the durability on the tires. Pirelli doesn’t advise the slick tires on the 458 Challenge to last more than one hour on the bankings of Daytona. Each race was one hour long, so we had to put new tires for each of the 4 races. P1 car in our class was a 2015 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and was really out of reach… We fought hard and didn’t do any mistake throughout the races that would put us in jeopardy. So at the end we grasped P2 in our class, P5 in GT class and P12 overall (out of 32 cars). Such a great event!
